It’s Tuesday, April 2, 2019, and time for the Liberal Minded Ladies of Substance news round-up. I’m going to do something I rarely do, and single out two news stories that I think everyone needs to read. I think all information is important, but these two particular stories concern me, and should concern you as well.
The first is the story about the ongoing Human Rights abuses in El Paso against the asylum seekers. CBP has started using sleep deprivation tactics on them as well.
The second is horrifying on a number of levels. It is the last story about the death row inmate who has medical issues that could affect his method of execution. The US Supreme Court, highest court in the land and stacked as it is with Right Wing extremists, has condemned him to a slow, torturous method of death.
Now, poll results! I want to thank all 2022 people who voted in yesterday’s poll as well as the 66 people who shared it on Facebook!! As of 11:30 this morning, the results were pretty clear. It was Bernie Sanders by a landslide. Warren, Harris, Gabbard, and (surprisingly) Wayne Messam round out the top 5. I have to admit, I know nothing about Messam, so his results here make me curious to check him out.
